Southeastern Grocers commemorates Veterans Day with $50,000 donation to the USO

Grocer salutes military members and families with contribution and in-store discount

In honor of Veterans Day, Southeastern Grocers, LLC, parent company and home of Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie grocery stores, together with the SEG Gives Foundation and DLJ Produce, is donating $50,000 to the USO in support of service members and their families.

The contribution represents the culmination of SEG’s fall partnership with DLJ Produce, which pledged a 5-cent donation for every pound of Razzle Dazzle Premium Grapes sold in Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie stores across Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi from Oct. 1 through Nov. 11. Recognizing the USO’s vital role in connecting service members to home and country, SEG and DLJ Produce are honored to provide the full donation to advance the organization’s mission of strengthening America’s military families.

In addition to the donation, Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie are proudly honoring veterans and active-duty military members by providing an 11% discount¹ today, Nov. 11, in recognition of Veterans Day. This special offer is a sincere token of gratitude for those who have selflessly served and continue to serve our country. To receive the discount, service members and veterans can simply show their valid military ID or proof of service at checkout. The Veterans Day discount is SEG’s way of saying “thank you” to the brave men and women who have served our country and continue to wear the uniform.

This Veterans Day initiative builds on SEG’s long-standing commitment to the military community. Through its partnership with the USO, SEG has hosted annual mobile food pantries throughout the Southeast to aid military families facing food insecurity and contributed more than $250,000 to the organization. SEG has also donated $8.3 million since 2018 to Folds of Honor, funding more than 1,660 educational scholarships for the children and spouses of fallen and disabled service members.
